Boss Hall of Fame Delays - Ask Zac 66

April 17, 2020

Today I take a look at the Big-3 delay pedals that Boss released in the 1980s, the DM-2, DD-2, and the DM-3. They were all revolutionary when released, and are now considered important delay classics. They are all favorites of mine for different reasons as all three have strengths and weaknesses.

Setting used on the pedals in the video:

Basic Slap back

Blow your speaker oscillation

Big Delay used with drop D tuning in video

Jorgenson/Albert Lee rhythmic delay.

Subtle Reggie Young type setting

All-purpose delay. Verb-esque sounding

Jorgenson/Paisley DD-2 Slap-Back setting

DM-3 Slap-back

"Makes me play less" delay with many repeats
